Bai Dai Beach

A sandy beach break with gentle waves, waist-deep water, and a soft bottom. A good choice for beginner and beginner-intermediate lessons when the swell is small.

You can surf the good waves and warm waters in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The water temperature is between 24-27 degrees all season. No wetsuits needed!

​Within 10-45 minutes driving distance of Nha Trang city, there are a number of reef breaks and beach breaks that the local surfers and surf students surf at.

-For Beginners

*About Bai Dai Beach (Beginner-Intermediate) 

(40min drive)  It is an excellent beach break with a sandy bottom, gentle waves, and waist-deep waters. It works best when the swell is below 1m

-For Surfers

Hon Chong Beach is an excellent surf spot with many surf spots on the same beach. The season starts at the beginning of October, towards the end of the surf season in March

*About Hon Chong Beach(All Level) / 10min drive from Nha Trang city centre! It offers a versatile surf experience, suitable for surfers of all skill levels

​-The surf spot features two types of surf breaks:

1. Beach Break (Beginner-Friendly) The beach break at Hon Chong is located closer to the shore and is perfect for beginners. With sandy bottom waits deep water, making it a great place for those who experience surfing for the first time

​

​2.Reef Break (All Levels): A short distance further out from the shore, the reef break offers Three Surf Spots on the same beach. The reef break at Hon Chong delivers a more dynamic and exciting experience, with the opportunity to ride longer, more consistent waves.

*The A-Frame Middle Peak 

Type: A-Frame reef/sand combo

Ideal Tide: Mid tide

Best Swell: NE

Level: All levels (depending on size)

The centrepiece of Hon Chong Beach, this peak forms where the reef transitions into sand. It’s the most consistent wave and the go-to for locals and travellers alike. The right tends to be longer and mellower, while the left offers a slightly steeper takeoff. On smaller days, it’s perfect for intermediates; on larger days, it can surprise you with power and hollow sections

*The Hon Chong Right Peak (South Corner)

Type: Right-hand reef/sand combo

Ideal Tide: Mid to high 

Best Swell: NE – E

Level: All levels (depending on size)

Just beneath the Hon Chong, this spot offers long right-hand waves. Ideal for longboarders. When the swell direction lines up, these waves can produce waves that can hold up and connect all the way through to the beach break. It’s a mellow wave, best surfed on mid to high tides.

*The Race Track Peak(North Corner)

Type: Right-hand reef break

Ideal Tide: Mid to high

Best Swell: NE

Level: Intermediate to advanced

Located north 200m next to the middle reef, this spot breaks over a patchy reef ledge and offers a long, fast right-hand that can hold up nicely on bigger swells. When the swell builds, The Race Track Rights reveals its true nature—providing fast, plenty of turn sections that break top to bottom with real power.
